Massive Bio to participate in World Cancer Day

Massive Bio will participate in World Cancer Day by displaying an awareness-raising video in New York City’s famed Times Square.

To honor World Cancer Day, Massive Bio—a leader in matching cancer patients to clinical trials—has created a video to raise awareness about cancer and the potential for artificial intelligence to help patients find innovative new treatments, which will be displayed in New York City’s famed Times Square on February 4, 2023.

World Cancer Day is held every year on February 4 and was established in 2000 by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), which is the largest and oldest organization devoted to reducing the burden of cancer, promoting equity in cancer care, and making cancer control a priority for governments around the world.

The global burden of cancer cannot be overstated. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 10 million people die of cancer each year. Approximately 70% of cancer deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. The annual cost of cancer care is estimated at US$1.16 trillion. Yet, experts estimate that at least one-third of cancer deaths can be prevented with routine screening, early diagnosis, and access to effective treatments.

Massive Bio has conducted several global campaigns to increase awareness of the benefits of preventive measures and access to treatments. Massive Bio’s current “I Have Cancer” social media campaign was launched in November and has reached millions of people around the world. The new video that Massive Bio has created and will display in Times Square today is yet another expression of the company’s commitment to improving the lives of oncology patients and eradicating cancer from the map.
