2019 ASCO Breakthrough Summit

2019 ASCO Breakthrough Summit

Massive Bio has been selected as the Abstract Award Recipient for the 2019 ASCO Breakthrough Summit, the largest Global Summit on Latest Innovations in Technology and Cancer.

Massive Bio is honored to be a part of the first-ever global summit focused on the emerging technology and science revolutionizing oncology care. Designed for the innovators, thinkers, and the early adopters of clinical change, this inaugural ASCO event is co-hosted by the Thai Society of Clinical Oncology in collaboration with social partners throughout the region. The event will leverage the best of technology, science, and medical practices to transform the future of cancer care.

Massive Bio was selected as the Abstract Award Recipient for its work entitled: “SYNERGY-AI: Artificial intelligence-based precision oncology clinical trial matching and registry”, ranking in the top 50 abstracts to be presented at the meeting. https://meetings.asco.org/breakthrough/welcome

Advances in medicine and technology are emerging faster than ever before. To harness this momentum, ASCO is showcasing these developments at Breakthrough: A Global Summit for Oncology Innovators, a new meeting focused on the intersection of medicine, scientific discovery, and innovations in technology. The inaugural meeting will take place on October 11-13, 2019, at the Centara Grand Hotel CentralWorld in Bangkok, Thailand.

“Breakthrough will be like no meeting ASCO has ever held,” said 2018-2019 ASCO President Dr. Monica M. Bertagnolli. “ASCO is stepping forward to bring together leaders in medicine and technology to address the challenges affecting the practice of oncology now and in the future.”

This year’s meeting will be co-hosted with the Thai Society of Clinical Oncology (TSCO) and planned in collaboration with many other regional oncology societies. Future meetings will be hosted in different cities across Asia, where significant advances in technology are rapidly emerging.

“The Thai Society of Clinical Oncology has enjoyed our longstanding collaboration with ASCO,” said TSCO president Professor Ekaphop Sirachainan. “This new meeting is a tremendous opportunity for our Society and Thailand to be part of bringing together exciting innovations in cancer and technology.”

Breakthrough will inspire research ideas, offer access to advances in technologies that can be applied to solving real-world problems, and promote peer-to-peer collaboration. The meeting will feature rapid abstract presentations, new applications, demonstrations of hands-on wearables, podcast recording stations, and crowdsourcing opportunities.

“This is the only global summit designed for oncology innovators, thought leaders, and early adopters of clinical change,” said Dr. Tony S. K. Mok, chair of the Program Committee for Breakthrough. “We’re developing a program that will foster engaging dialogue and provide networking and information-sharing opportunities, with the ultimate goal of improving the care for patients with cancer worldwide.”

Dr. Howard “Skip” Burris III, MD, FACP, FASCO, ASCO President, mentioned: “Breakthrough is a global summit that will bring together clinicians, researchers, engineers, technologists, and innovators to discuss unique approaches to cancer care. It will be these perspectives and innovative ways of thinking that are really going to create some unique solutions and lead to better care for our patients”

Breakthrough will feature:

  1. Advances to the cutting-edge technology of oncology with topics that include artificial intelligence, robotic surgery, novel therapeutics, the ethical considerations of these new approaches, and more.
  2. Progress in technology and scientific discoveries that are disrupting the traditional constructs of oncology and will change the future of cancer care.
  3. Opportunities to connect with global leaders in oncology, technology, practice, and research. Many of  the world’s innovators in oncology will be there.
